The term "Traffic" is used to quote the Number of visitors for a website. Where are these visitors coming from? Whether all the visitors, search in google box for your website and lands directly to your site? Not so, Let me introduce you the different classifications of traffic source we get for a website. The 5 main traffic sources are:
- Direct URL traffic
- Organic traffic
- Paid traffic
- Referral traffic
Direct URL traffic :
When we go the browser and type the website URL directly in the search box, it is said to be a Direct URL traffic.
Organic and Paid Traffic :
When we look at this image, we can clearly see for the search keyword "DSLR Camera" we get a list of search results. In that, the first few sites with images are tagged with heading "Ads" which says that those links are suggested because they are paid ones. The owner of the website has paid some amount to the google to show its site at the top. Whereas the links below the paid ones will be shown directly without any ads tag, these links are said to be the "Organic" (Free). Traffic from each link either free or paid is term as the Organic and Paid Traffic respectively. It is noted that almost 60% of people will be choosing only the first few suggested links and almost 90% of people doesn't look for the second page search results during their search in google.
Referral Traffic :
In our website, at the top of the blog I have added two buttons one for Digital Marketing home page and the another one "ARUN_RVEZ BLOGS". On clicking this, it will open a new tab referring my personal blogging website. So, this process of referring an another website in our blog is termed as Referral. The traffic we get through this method is termed as the "Referral Traffic". A healthy referrals from high page ranked websites helps us to rank at the top in search results.
